Citrus County Speedway - “Virtual Drivers Meeting”
On behalf of Citrus County Speedway’s owners, officials, and staff, we want to take this opportunity to welcome (you), the Driver, as well as your crew, family, car owners, sponsors and friends! Our mission here at Citrus County Speedway is: “To bring local short track racing back to life” and, with a bit of luck, provide a pleasurable racing experience for you along the way. As your Race/Competition Director, I want to assure all drivers of our commitments to you.
We can all agree that no-one wants flip-flop decisions or erratic policy pertaining to race procedures. While it might be impossible to maintain 100% consistency, I want to set the bar high and show that it is our highest commitment to you. Example: A lot of discrepancies at racetracks occur on the track resulting from the official’s call on a given yellow-flag, wreck or incident. Most racetracks use one of two methods to follow when making race stopping contact/accident calls. They either use a “Total-Judgement” procedure on who is at fault and who gets penalized, or they use a “All-Involved” procedure on who gets penalized. For a couple of reasons, we decided early-on that we would consistently implement the “All Involved” procedure for dealing with the yellow/red flag incidents for the racing season. (For details, please refer to: Yellow Flag Rules-> Spinner/Spinee, and Tap-Out Rule).
Firm but Impartial, with no favoritism to be shown, and to be fair to all drivers, is among my highest priorities.
Taking no matter lightly, with our assurance we will attempt to do the best that we can to offer you a safe, and hopefully enjoyable racing experience. We will listen to your concerns, and if we feel it would better the racing environment, we will take steps to improve our procedures toward that goal.
